Nicolette Carter

Nicolette says of her work, ‘my influences include medieval art, Mughal painting, and decorative arts from many cultures. I have developed my own iconography, often revisiting garden and countryside themes. I enjoy using the elements of colour, pattern and rhythm to create richly detailed pieces, and there is always a poetic narrative or spiritual element to my work. This lends a meditative quality to the paintings.
