Truly Great gift wrap by Emma Bridgewater

Giving is better than receiving they say. For me, it’s all about the wrapping – the recipient can keep the gift, just let me have the wrapping paper back. I get a certain buzz when I stumble across quirky wrapping paper – you could say I have a bit of a wrapping paper fetish. I don’t just use it to make gifts look super sweet but as a decorating accessory. For example, you’ll currently find a few pristine, untouched rolls of pink and mint wrapping paper sitting in the corner of my living room as it matches the Lichen Farrow&Ball paint on the walls. I used the rest to decorate a living room lampshade (oops, hope my home insurance company isn’t reading this – not sure it’s fireproof!). There’s a couple of sneaky silver dazzlers in my guest room too as they sit well with the glitzy Kylie linen and sequin scatter cushions on the bed. It’s a military operation. Bit odd? Probably.

Don’t even get me started on wallpaper leftovers. I had 4metres of leftover Cole&Son Vivienne Westwood wallpaper after decorating my bedroom in Spring and it’s worked its magic on many of my friend’s birthday presents this year. *If you try that at home remember it’s a little bit thick so you’ll need super strength sellotape!*
