This post is for all you food and film buffs out there. Proof that when it comes to celebrities it’s not just all film and champagne – the stars eat too! ACHICA Living has been About Town this week at the 64th Cannes International Film Festival 2011. Check out these behind the scene snaps from Le Menu de Cannes competition where Jude Law, Robert De Niro and Uma Thurman sat down to enjoy the Grand Final lunch from Electrolux’s first ever Le Menu de Cannes’ competition: a succession of prestigious challenges across France and Russia where chefs, stylists and designers competed to create the most elegant Cannes-like dining moments.
The French and Russian teams battled it out in front of an audience of diners including the Le Menu de Cannes judges to create a dinner ‘fit for Robert de Niro’. The winning menu was served on Monday and given an 8 out of 10 score from Jude Law. ACHICA Living in turn gives Jude Law a 10 out of 10 score, just for being Jude Law.
The Le Menu de Cannes winning menu from Les Cook and Roll (France), which was served to the Festival Jury was:
Puree potato in a clay shell with aioli
Lobster-stuffed courgette flower with Sicilian caponata
Salt cod served with algae and seasonal vegetables
Mascarpone with raspberries and basil granita
The Le Menu de Cannes runner-up menu from Taste of Life (Russia) was:
Homemade berry vodka
Modern interpretation of ‘Borscht’
Beef tenderloin in a red wine and chocolate sauce, served with watercress salad and black bread
Berry sponge, carrot jam and Russian kissel jelly
Delicious yep? I particularly fancy the Homemade berry vodka!
