Sneak peek at next season’s hottest homewares
Being an interiors stylist is mostly about lugging chairs around shoots and packing up returns in mountains of bubble wrap. But sometimes, the job is as far away from real work as you could possibly imagine – specifically, at the twice yearly annual shows, where all the stores display their wares for the following season. Traipsing round the collections, viewing products a full six months before they appear on the high street, it’s a chance to window shop, to spot trends and, most importantly, to plan what your own flat is going to look like half a year down the line. These are a few of my favourite things, which are set to hit the high street and perhaps your homes very soon…
Wood from the trees: Very.co.uk are rolling out this mysteriously beautiful wallpaper (above)
Definitely stylish: With all the chic of the salvage yard, but none of the hard DIY is this dining table from BHS
Trophy cups: These understated teacups by Betty Jackson were the surprisingly subtle statement piece at Debenhams
Fit to bust: Add your own lampshade to this quirky Odette base at Laura Ashley
Super fan: We love the fan-like shape of the pattern on the Sensu dinner collection at House of Fraser
Right angles: Hard to photograph, even harder if you bang your shin on it, is the architectural Cuba table at Marks and Spencer
