Just a little bit: how to work the new season’s pink accessories

Autumn/Winter. That time of year that’s all about new coats, new shoes and new pencil cases. And, if you look at interiors trends, pink and purple. Yes, every year, as predictable as the lack of Indian summer, comes an array of cushions, vases, and even sofas in funky fuchsias and moody maroons. The theory, I’m guessing, is this: purple fits with the cosy feeling of log fires, nights drawing in, and snuggling into a warm sofa with a glass of port and bowl of chestnuts. Pink lifts the look, adding a bit of brightness for people who don’t feel the need to decorate in sludgy colours just because that is what the weather is doing outside. Unfortunately for pink, it has negative connotations, thanks to every Princess-style party girl from Paris to Jordan, but it’s time to reclaim bubblegum shades by making the most of these surprisingly subtle accents. Perfect for adding just a hint of colour, with any one of these you’re sure to be in the pink…
