The teal appeal

You’ve probably noticed that the colour teal is so hot right now. In clothing, it looks stunning with a summer tan, and, from the catwalk it has filtered through the cat flap and into our homes. You’ll find a range of terrific teal soft furnishings and accessories on the high street, which are ideal for adding some zsa zsa zsu to your room scheme. ‘Teal is a beautiful jewel colour that effortlessly marries drama and sophistication,’ says Louise Smith, Dulux Global Colour Designer. ‘A mixture of blue and green, it combines the attributes of these two colours and creates a calming and soothing effect, but because of its intensity it still packs a punch. To create exciting, unexpected combinations, try accessorising with acid yellow or deep plum.’ Here are some of the most eye-catching looks you can create at home using vibrant teal finishes, to more sober pared-down offerings in soft furnishings and accessories…

I decorated my apartment in Nice with this colour 3 years ago… and have had a wardrobe of this colour for years.. so is it so new – no of course its not! perhaps I should get myself a job as a colour designer for Dulux and put then ahead of the game?

PS. I have had a coloured chandelier, very similar to the Tesco one featured also for 3 years – perhaps its time to get rid of it and move onto the next “must have”?

    Dear Homebody
I’ve asked Tesco where it came from, but unfortunately it’s a stylists own piece and so we can’t track the stockists. If you try http://www.visoni.com there is a whole host of original looking artwork for the home you might like
    Thanks
