Wallpaper to woo you

The latest designs are batting their big and bold, eye-catching designs at us. I love wallpaper. I always have. Even before it got trendy again! I have it in practically every room in my home. So when I was asked to write a magazine feature on the latest wallpapers recently I jumped at the chance. But little did I know what was in store. The latest designs are so gorgeous I almost want to swap my black damask Marcel Wanders feature wall in my living room (that I spent a long time choosing and really adore as it has serious wow factor) for a completely new deco style.

Art Deco and Retro are the next big inspirational themes this Autumn/Winter 2011 with strong designs by Laura Ashley (above), Sophie Conran and Graham&Brown creating an impressive statement. Florals are also a big influence on wall designs – just check out the Digitex’s wonderful Tulip wall mural (below).

For more strong colour check out Sophie Conran’s Bohemia in blue for Arthouse (below).

I wish I could share with you the latest designs by Farrow & Ball but they are strictly embargoed until September so keep your eyes peeled. I promise you the The Broccato Collection is fabulous and not to be missed!

I also love Wayne and Geraldine Hemmingway’s collection for Graham & Brown, which pays tribute to the Festival of Britain’s 60th Anniversary. Each of the four designs celebrates a different decade, 1930’s, 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. Each one looks like a piece of history yet strangely looks so modern and of the moment – the sign of a great design duo! I think the Loopy lines (top of blogpost) has to be my favourite, no actually Deco Diamonds (below). Now…where’s that wall scraper gone?
