There’s been some exciting innovations and creations to see at this year’s London Design Festival and if you haven’t had a chance to visit any of the shows at Tent, 100% Design and Design Centre Chelsea Harbour for example, there’s still time. ACHICA Living has had a particularly fun weekend on ‘BlogTour 2011‘ – an event that has seen 18 US and Canadian interior designers, bloggers and architects visit London for the festival. It’s been lovely hanging out with them and chatting about how interiors and design is ‘done’ here and across the pond. Stacey Bewkes, creator and author of the gorgeous Quintessence blog, leading architect Bob Borson who pens Life of An Architect and renowned interior designer Andie Day are just a few of the wonderful people we’ve met this weekend, and whose sites are well worth a click.
So when it comes to the London Design Festival, if I had to recommend one event particularly worth a visit it would have to be Origin: The Contemporary Craft Fair, which is open now until 28 September 2011 at the buzzing Old Spitalfields Market. It’s the Craft’s Council’s annual contemporary craft fair, which showcases handcrafted pieces from over 200 British and international makers. Just feast your eyes on the beautiful pieces by the likes of Victoria Delany, Shan Valla, Catherine Fuga Carr and Christian O’Reilly…
More on those master crafters and the London Design Festival 2011 later in the week…but for now, forgive me, as now I must step out and rejoin the Modenus BlogTour2011…enjoy the rest of your day…
