As a decorative theme, birds have been abundant this year, adorning cushions, crockery and objet d’art. But I’ve yet to see them depicted in such a stunning fashion as I've seen them in Joanna Charlotte’s beautiful bird paintings. From her studio in Crystal Palace, Joanna Charlotte's paintings are created using many thin layers of paint, which she builds up to create a luscious highly decorative surface. Taking inspiration from great artists including Monet and Klimt, Joanna often paints on linen as well as canvas and builds gold leaf into many of her painted surfaces to create precious works of art. Check out her full range at ACHICA today until 7am Saturday 31st December 2011, before they 'fly' off the walls.
