I recently declared yellow as the colour of the month here on ACHICA Living. And just to prove I wasn’t making it up, I took note of how many yellow finds I found at Milan’s recent annual Furniture Fair, one of the most important shows on the design calendar. I’m delighted to report, that despite the rain, sunny yellow was everywhere. Here are a few of my favourite finds…
But the Brera district went one better and had even painted its buildings yellow just for us! See above.
Campeggi had two yellow beauties waiting at Salone– the Ipouf by Emanuele Magini and Tic Tac by Sakura Adachi. Both below.
Diesel and Moroso got together with their Successful Living collaboration to bring us more lovely sunny products – these ones looked particularly tempting at the end of a long day!
But I can’t complain too much, because we did get a spot of sunshine in Milan – just enough to squeeze in a gelato – lemon flavoured naturally – from this rather fetching gelato stand.
And even the graffiti was playing ball…
Japanese Kanazawa College of Art had a ‘hospitality chair’ in every colour of the rainbow, but I couldn’t resist snapping this one to add to my growing collection…
…or this one from IKEA.
The Joey Chair from Studio Ju-Ju promises to carve out a private space through the warmth of its wool fabric and its enveloping hood. I was absolutely captivated by these Lindsten Form lights in their bubblegum colours.
I couldn’t do a post about yellow, without sneaking in a little bit of grey – I loved the whole Lines collection from Cynthia Viale, but this one was definitely my favourite. Peral by Silvia Knueppel caught my eye too – and it’s surprisingly comfortable. But for total yellow immersion, check out the Softwall Modular System by Molo, made entirely from honeycombed paper…
