To showcase some gorgeous interior styles, Jonathan Bird and Maxine Bulloch from the ACHICA media team recently held a press event at London’s OXO2. Super stylist Marie Nichols, who has worked for some of our favourite magazines including Grazia, Marie Claire, Ideal Home and Real Living Australia, was responsible for putting together some inspiring roomsets for the show, using gorgeous brands that will be at ACHICA this season. Here is a closer look at the latest homewares room by room…
Above is the Contemporary Classic Living look, with pop-colour accessories from designer Johnny Egg sitting on Conran shelving and chair. The vibrant teal wall is the perfect contrast to the sober shades of grey used in the chair and shelving, and is balanced out with a vibrant block-coloured rug.
Pictured below is ACHICA’s take on Modern Rustic Living. This look is all about subtle contrast in textures and designs. Classic cream sofas with button-back detailing are combined with a range of cushions and throws and a distressed table, that ticks every shade off the white to greige colour spectrum.
Look three is Utilitarian Dining Style. Taking inspiration from industrial design and the demand for easy-to-live with materials, metallic black finishes blend well with silver accents to create a moody and magical look, perfect for evening entertaining. Just add friends and family.
We know it’s a little early to start thinking about the festive season, but when the winter chill kicks in it’s better to be styled than sorry… In complete contrast to the Utilitarian Dining Style above, ACHICA’s Scandi Christmas Dining is all about a cool, calm and contemporary collection. Try saying that after a few festive drinks!
Next up is Colourful Bedroom Bliss. This theme embraces the trick of using colourful bed linen and vibrantly upholstered furniture in clashing shades to give your bedroom a refreshing revamp. Clarissa Hulse’s designer bed linen plays a starring role here, as does the Kelly Swallow patchwork chair.
The ACHICA Children’s Bedroom Corner is full of imaginative colour too. Using wall stickers creates a feature in an instant, while colourful bed linen, paint and floor coverings add to the look to make it an enjoyable place to be.
And last but not least, cook up a treat in the kitchen using the latest appliances. Choose from neutral shades that sit discreetly on your countertop and blend in with the units and worktops for a sleek look, or choose a statement piece to act as the main star of the show and design the rest of your room around. These decorative units in the ACHICA Kitchen Corner are from Seletti and perched on top are casserole dishes by Chasseur and a selection of kitchenware from JosephJoseph, Dualit and Bodum. Lighting up the space are statement pendants from Muuto. This kitchen kit is practical, but good looking too – it’s got the looks and the books.
