After years of travelling around the world, textile designer Anna Smith gathered up her ideas and inspiration and launched stylish lifestyle brand Also Home. The range is filled with individual handpicked pieces from luxurious bed linen to twinkling candle lights, all carefully selected to give your home that warm, loving feeling. Inspired by this we’ve put together a few top tips to get your home ready for autumn…
It’s all in the detail: Choose linens that are beautifully made and have interesting elements such as the one pictured above. Here the deep raspberry lining works equally well on the white pillowcases to add an elegant touch to the room and add depth and excitement to the look.
Swap thin china for chunky ceramics: Try elegant white ceramics that come with a pop of colour inside to make your dining table look warm and inviting – it’s a real unique touch. And even if you find you’re not using the whole set, they’ll always look great on display on some open shelves.
Less is more: We all love pillows but too many can make a room look cluttered, so chose a handful carefully. Picking the same pattern but in different colours adds consistency. If you find an area where they could sit together unruffled, it will add order and harmony to your room scheme.
Get the vintage look: These white pillowcases immediately add a subtle old world charm to your bedroom. They come with pretty embroidery and delicate scalloped edges and work around any contemporary or classic bedroom theme.
Keep it classic: They say you should always add a touch of black to your room scheme to tie the scheme together and here you can combine black and white and work that rule in the easiest way possible – fresh crisp white bed linen works with a black patterned border for an elegant, sophisticated and timeless look. Don’t be scared to use different black and white shapes, stripes and designs in other features like your wallpaper, art work and lampshade, to add another dimension.
