Looking for that perfect fabric for your living room? Want to find the right cut but can’t decide between the birds or the bees or the butterfly patterns? Or perhaps block colours and geometric prints are more your style? To offer some inspiration, here are our fabric highlights from recent interior design show Decorex 2012. We hope they catch your eye as much as they’ve caught ours…
First up, we can always rely on Margo Selby to create vivid, geometric patterns (pictured above) and here her trademark rich hues and intricate weaves created a tapestry of colour.
It wasn’t as much 50 shades of grey as it was 50 shades of blue or rather indigo over at the Westbury stand. There were flowers, ribbon stripes, checks and casual pinstripes making up the Kalahari, Kilimanjaro, Sorrento and Suzani collection, to name a few.
Paperboy also used splashes of Indigo in its latest range made with a boys’ bedroom in mind.
This Mid-Century inspired chair looks beautiful upholstered with the mist green dandelion fabric from Missprint – it’s a perfect combination of classic meets contemporary.
The latest range from London-based textile designer Emily Burningham is inspired by her fascination with Japanese designs and 18th-century art. Her raspberry hawthorne and sparrows fabric really is charming and the rich red colourway adds warmth to your room scheme.
The tournier design from Sanderson has been adapted from a mid 19th-century French archive print and would look beautiful used for curtains or a one-off statement piece as above.
