Sail on into the weekend with Angel Adoree’s Potato Ships recipe

Looking for something to cook up with the kids this weekend? Angel Adoree’s Potato Ships are a great idea. Children will find them fun and easy to make and they taste pretty darn good too. They work equally well as a clever canape for a drinks party. Follow the recipe here…

Angel Adoree's Potato Ships recipe

‘I believe the love of potatoes starts from birth, but I would feel guilty serving a spud without the fun factor!’ says Angel. ‘When I saw these ships at a grown man’s nautical-theme party, I just had to borrow the idea. It’s debatable whether it works quite so well for a 25 year old, but who am I to judge? Sail on with any topping of your choice.’

Prep 15mins

cook 25-30mins

serves 12

12 mini potatoes (Charlotte work well)

2 cherry tomatoes

4 thin slices of ham

60g (2¼ oz) Cheddar cheese, grated

Method

1 .Preheat the oven to 200°C and bake the potatoes for 25–30 minutes. Meanwhile, cut the ham into little triangles and quarter and then halve again the cherry tomatoes. Skewer them onto cocktail sticks to make the sails.

2 Remove the potatoes from the oven and, when cool enough to handle, slice off the tops. Scatter over the cheese and place the sails on top. Enjoy!
