The snowy weather didn’t dampen spirits in Paris during Maison & Objet 2013 this week. In fact, the annual exhibition was sizzling with hot interiors and design talent. Here are some of our favourite lighting finds from the show. And speaking of lighting, don’t miss the Plumen promotion at ACHICA this weekend too…
Combining his experience with jewels and glassware, Nadim Spiridon has created pendant lights using local crystals and recycled glass (as pictured above). If you want to add colour to your room but don’t want to faff around with sample pots and paint brushes, then this is a great way to include bold vibrant finishes and bring your room to life.
Meanwhile, we’re loving the snow-white style of Netherlands-based company AangenaamXL. Its Bullit pendants (pictured below) work well to create a cool, contemporary scheme that’s ideal for simple and stylish entertaining. The inside drums of the pendants come in a range of finishes including silver, copper, bronze and gold leaf, which add an extra touch of elegance.
The Moorish designs from Zenza (pictured below) also caught our eye. If your room is looking a little drab this season, a Moroccan-style lantern in a stunning metallic finish is a sure way to liven up the room. It will make you feel like you’re in a bustling shopping souk in Marrakech, but with more souk and less bustle.
Maison & Objet was shining bright with statement lighting designs – some that would look more at home in a gallery than, well, our homes. Castro Lighting for example, featured these extravagant Braga range lights with dazzling gold and crystal detail. With designers like this paving the way with bold pendants such as these, you can expect to see the shops filled with similar versions over the next year.
And there’s some exciting news here at ACHICA this week as Plumen lighting (as pictured below) goes on promotion from Saturday at 7am. Don’t miss the chance to get your hands on these energy saving lightbulbs. Now there a sentence we never thought we’d write!
