Children’s fashion has come a long way since the days of dressing boys in blue and girls in pink – proof of this was seen at Bubble London. Taking place last month the international trade show bought together more than 90 brands featuring everything from clothing to toys, shoes, interiors and much more.
The friendly trade show (now in its 11th year) draws ‘oohs’ and ‘ahhs’ from visitors and exhibitors alike and it’s not surprising with such adorable products. Miniature partywear and tiny Swedish-made moccasins with delightful designs (pictured above) got our thumbs up, not to mention lots of knitwear for the cold months.
As ever with childrenswear there was an emphasis on practicality mixed with playfulness. We saw nightwear doubling up as fancy dress to play on the creative minds of little ones. Rock ‘n’ Regal had a fab selection of tartan check for the girls and smart tweed style coats for the boys, and quirky graphic prints from Beau Loves was a favourite as well.
The ‘mini-me’ trend was illustrated by new brand Melissa, which makes tiny shoes inspired by the popular plastic ‘n’ playful Vivienne Westwood adult shoes that were all over the press last year. These are perfect for the rain as well as at the beach.
Bubble saw a fabulous selection of products on offer and was a great platform to also see new and emerging brands. Many of the brands have already gained interest from the press including Child Farm, which makes organic bath products that smell good enough to eat, as well as Slugs & Snails, the original boy’s tights company with cars, boats and pak man designs on. As the mother in sitcom Miranda says ‘Such fun’!
