Designer Lucy Enfield from ilovegorgeous on co-founding her childrenswear range

Born out of a love for fabric, colour and a little sparkle, ilovegorgeous is the brainchild of two mothers who realised that the only way to dress their children in the style they wanted was to do it themselves. And that's what Lucy Enfield and Sophie Worthington did. Six months after they launched their first collection, they could count Kate Moss, Claudia Schiffer, Stella Tennant and Sam Taylor-Wood as their customers. As the range comes to ACHICA, we catch up with one half of ilovegorgeous, Lucy Enfield (married to Harry Enfield), to talk colour, coffee, clogs and how she loves Breaking Bad on box set...

Why girls clothes?

I have two girls, and I wanted to get involved with what they wear and create pretty items of clothing for them.

How did the name ilovegorgeous come about?

We were originally called 'gorgeous' but then a very good friend of ours Giles Andreae came up with ilovegorgeous, which we just thought was perfect.

What’s so different about the brand?

We play with unusual prints and trims.

Describe the clothes in three words?

Eclectic, colourful, unique.

Favourite fashion designer?

Vivienne Westwood, because it is irreverent.

What inspires you?

Travelling around the world and sometimes from the smallest thing - usually a theme from nature.

Last thing you bought?

Coffee! Oh, and some Penelope Chilvers' clogs.

Favourite item of clothing?

A black fitted Agnes B jacket I bought 20 years ago - a classic.

How do you like to relax?

Enjoying a glass of wine with my husband and friends.

Dinner host or dinner guest?

Dinner guest, definitely.

Favourite restaurant?

Granger & Co - it's local and delicious. It has the most wonderful uplifting decor.

Who would you love to design an outfit for?

Judy Garland in the Wizard of Oz.

Coffee or tea?

Tea first thing, and then coffee.

Books or magazines?

Books.

What TV show are you hooked on at the moment?

Breaking Bad...I'm obsessed.

Was the Box Set Sketch in Harry and Paul your idea then?

Yes it was!

Apart from designing what else do you love doing?

Hanging out with my kids at the weekend.

What’s the one thing you can’t live without?

My glasses.
