THIS GIVEAWAY HAS NOW CLOSED. DO CHECK BACK FOR MORE ACHICA LIVING GIVEAWAYS SOON. Fancy spending this Saturday night in the company of some of the world's best chefs? Then enter today's giveaway to win two tickets to one of the most exciting foodie events of the year: The Lab, an interactive gourmet experience led by some of the world’s best chefs, in partnership with premium home appliance brand AEG. The event is a sell out, but ACHICA Living has just got its hands on two exclusive tickets for Saturday night's event, worth £150. You've got to be quick as we'll be picking the winner at 5pm today!
The winner's tickets will include access for two people to the event, from 6pm til 11pm on Saturday 27th April 2013, and you'll need to make your own way to and from the Tobacco Dock in Wapping, E1W 2SF, where the event is being held. You will get four meals and two drink vouchers with your ticket so you can taste to your heart's content. Winners must be over 18. The prize does not include transport.
Running for three consecutive nights, The Lab will play host to some stunning foodie talent including Brazilian star Alex Atala (pictured below), from Sao Paulo restaurant D.O.M (currently listed number four on the World’s 50 Best list), Massimo Bottura from Italian restaurant Osteria Francescana (named fifth best in the world last year), and Lars Williams, head of research and development at world number one, Noma.
British culinary talent will be represented by chefs including Heston’s right-hand man Ashley Palmer-Watts, Bubbledogs’James Knappett and John Salt’s BBQ king Neil Rankin (formerly head chef at Pitt Cue Co. in Soho), plus London-based chefs such as Bo London’s Alvin Leung.
These chefs and more will host a variety of masterclasses and collaborate with each other during live shows at the AEG Experiment, with no two nights offering the same line-up. Guests will be able to attend tutorials, gain access to intimate ‘audience with’ sessions, and watch live demonstrations, in order to learn how to cook like the professionals.
Highlights of the three-night festival include: the Noma Flavour Test (a collaboration between Lars Williams and producers of lesser-known ingredients, resulting in new ways to cook with forgotten ingredients); Q&A sessions in the AEG Research Lounge where guests can pose questions to top chefs; and a presentation on the AEG live stage by Palmer-Watts, who will talk about the inspiration behind dishes at Dinner by Heston Blumenthal and the development processes involved.
