Modern technology at home needn’t mean ugly boxes and cables ruining the look of your interior decor. The latest designs make it easy to seamlessly and conveniently integrate the latest in audio and visual gadgets into your room scheme, so you can sit back and relax to your favourite movie or listen to your music library without a Spaghetti Junction of cables in sight. Here’s a few of our favourite room schemes featuring modern technology…
1. This lavish modern family home in Reading (above) includes a Crestron smart system installed by Smartcomm, which gives the owners full control over the lighting, security, music systems and TVs wherever they are in the home, and without interfering with the beautiful décor. In this bedroom, with decorative wallpaper and dramatic curtains, the TV can be hidden in the ceiling and is motorised to appear when needed.
2. In this room, with technology installed by Dark Side of the Room, the house really is at the owner’s fingertips. It includes five Crestron TPMC-9L touchpanels that can display a complete level-by-level floor plan of the property. Using the touch panels the owner can control all the technology in the home including the door-entry system and over eight surveillance cameras, the music throughout the house, the swimming pool temperature.
3. In this bedroom, with technology installed by It’s Done Technology, a lot of care has been taken to ensure the equipment is as invisible as possible. It includes the installation of in-wall and in-ceiling speakers and recessed TVs to minimise disruption to the natural lines and beauty of the space. And we think it works rather well…
