An enchanted Christmas
There’s something truly magical about an all-white scheme at Christmas. Flocked trees, snow-tipped decorations and twinkling fairy lights all create a striking winter wonderland. Glass and white ornaments are key to getting this look just right. Different finishes such as gloss, matte and glitter will add depth and texture to your aesthetic and will reflect light around the room in different ways.
This theme is easily created throughout the house and looks particularly striking when it comes to festive dining. Decorate with a white linen table cloth, napkins and crockery combined with a scattering of candles (opt for festive scented candles to add another layer of ambiance). Place a row of tealights down the middle of the table – these will reflect beautifully off your glassware. Create a simple but stunning centrepiece by filling a glass vase with white baubles and fairy lights.
Into the woods
We can’t get enough of this festive take on a woodland trend. This theme lends itself perfectly to a home with a rustic feel running through it. Think raw wood, leaves, animal motifs, deers, antlers and delicate touches of metallics.
Accessories are key to this look – from cosy cushions and throws to wall-mounted wreaths and decorative stag heads and antlers. Warm hues of taupe, tan and gold give this trend a cosy feeling, perfect for this time of year. Many of the accessories that fall into this trend are not overly Christmassy, meaning that this look moves effortlessly and seamlessly from autumn to winter.
Christmas at the Ritz
If you can’t go all out with gold, glitz and glamour at Christmas, then, when can you? If you can’t wait for the festive season and the excuse to go all out, then this is the trend for you. This style is all about opulence and elegance and is the perfect excuse to bedeck your home with metallic tones and plush soft furnishings. You’ll find stars, glitter, wings and feathers throughout this style, with gold accents in abundance.
Dress your tree by adorning it lavishly with lights, gold baubles, decorations and a star on top to complete the tradition. There’s no such thing as overdressed when it comes to this luxe look so feel free to cover every inch.
The night before Christmas
Christmas means different things to all of us, but there’s something undeniably special about a room decorated in a traditional style – reds, greens, golds and an opulently decorated tree as the centrepiece. Wreaths and garlands really come into their own in this look, with so many beautiful options available to decorate your home. A large over-mantle mirror, a traditional holly garland with a spattering of red berries in amongst the green, above a roaring open fire - the epitome of traditional festivities. Add a couple of mince pies for Santa and a carrot for Rudolph into the scene and we’re picturing a truly idyllic Christmas eve.
