One beautiful Seahorse bobbing about, swimming upright. One of the best carvings we’ve seen of this charming and intelligent creature. Their often friendly appearance, equine profiles and seemingly playful attitude have made them hugely popular in our culture. Although they are bony fish, they do not have scales, but rather a thin skin stretched over a series of bony plates arranged in rings throughout their body. They also have long snouts which they use to suck up food, and eyes that can move independently of each other. Displayed on an aluminum pole, the seahorse is mounted upon a natural hard wood base. Simple and elegant, this delightful piece is designed in the UK before being hand carved by skilled craftsman in Indonesia. Made from sustainable woods, the sculpture has a lovely authentic and highly individual character. Each carved piece is unique (and therefore may slightly vary). The perfect gift.
