16 coats of lacquer are first painted on this decorative box before anything can be created on it's topcoat. Each week a specific colour is used then carved by hand, layering up shapes and colour until a specific image of village life is exposed. With every box somewhat unique in it's form due to that handcrafted, traditional nature of this piece you'll be sure to place this item pride of place in your living room or home study.
