The star Thuban (? Draconis) was the southern pole star around 2700 BC, during the time of the ancient Egyptians. Due to the effects of precession it will once again be the pole star around the year 21000 AD. Draconis I is an abstract interpretation of Thuban. Accented by dozens of layers, glazes and metallic colour, Draconis X is a visceral dramatic piece.
Mixed media incorporating acrylic, metallic enamel work, applique and sculpted high texture, painted on a deep (gallery grade) handcrafted box canvas, ready to hang (hanging plates attached, no framing required).
