Paul Shiers

Paul Shiers says of his work, ‘For me, painting is not about creating an image of something, it is about conveying simple emotions on canvas. Colour, form and composition are everywhere in the world. I love art in any of its forms but simple expression and use of colour generally move me the most.’ This is a wonderful body of work by the artist - paintings built up with enigmatic and powerful colour washes, describing land and sea. Turner is referenced in these works and it is not an understatement to say they are truly triumphant in their atmosphere and grand in their scale. The Paul Shiers promotion at ACHICA starts at 7am Saturday 24th March and ends at 7am Wednesday 28th March.
