Sam Toft

Sam Toft exhibits her work in Mayfair galleries and Ikea showrooms alike; she is one of those rare artists who transcend taste and academia. Her painting and drawing is respected as much for its skillfulness as for its ability to reach so many people. Best known for her body of work based around the character Mr Mustard, Toft prepares herself in the studio by burning lavender oil, drinking lots of nice tea and eating lots of nice food, then commences her art making. Drawing Mr Mustard happens in the most soulful way, which is surely why everyone relates to this little character and his family.
