O'Hare & D'Jafer

Stephen O’Hare and Mevlit D’Jafer use leather hides sourced from the UK, mixed with small sections of special textured leather from Italy, to create the stylized motifs that embellish their work. These are prepared for cutting and finishing through a combination of handwork and the latest laser technology. The pierced leathers are intercut into one another and placed on a gilded ground of gold, bronze or silver. O’Hare and D’Jafer draw their inspiration from the world-class collections of artifacts and textiles held at the British Museum and the V&A. With the RCA as their background, this artist team is an enviable force within the UK interior art platform.
