Phil Johns studied Illustration & Graphic Design at Southend Art School and completed post-graduate studies in Fine Art at Canterbury Christ Church University. His career spans more than thirty years and he has exhibited extensively in the UK and USA. His paintings are informed by the atmospheric sensation of both sea and sky. The north coast of Cornwall and the ancient Pilgrims Way in Kent are his current points of reference. The paintings are in oil and are realised in an energetic semi-abstract style with a view to interpreting the light and rhythms of an ever-changing nature. His work has featured in numerous television productions and he has contributed to BBC radio programmes.
