ACHICA > Judith Donaghy
Born in Frodsham, Cheshire, Judith originally trained as a textile designer but later concentrated on fine art. Painting mostly in oil, her pictures are a reflection or direct response to the places she has visited. Her subject matter is usually landscape or coastal scenes inspired by the Cheshire countryside, the coast or holidays abroad. She makes small sketches on site, which are later used as a starting point for paintings created in the studio. She uses a combination of colour and design to create mood and atmosphere and the finished result is usually semi-abstract or occasionally of a completely abstract nature. Her work is held in collections as far afield as France and America and she is widely collected in the UK. These are beautiful examples and wonderful interior additions.
