ACHICA > Laurie Maitland
After specialising in set design for her English and Drama degree at Kingston University, Laurie Maitland went on to teach, and then started painting full time in 1996. Hailed as an innovator by the industry - an abstract impressionist with sellout shows such as the Affordable Art Fairs and London Art Fair, Laurie's work was then published by Canadian Art Prints in 2002. For the past decade Laurie's prints have been best sellers, not only for Canadian Art Prints, but globally. Laurie lives in Devon and her paintings still reflect her love of nature; emulating the colours of the seasons with autumnal tones, winter neutrals, vibrant jewels and sandy colour palettes. Now only painting two collections a year due to writing commitments, Laurie's work is highly collectable and sought after.
