ACHICA > Cygnus Papilio
Joseph Alexander Goode is an acclaimed artist living and working in East London. This Cygnus Papilio collection references the Latin ‘butterfly swan’ - an imaginary carnation representing natural beauty combined with fantasy. The work is a complex fusion of hand-drawn and vintage imagery. Some of the pieces contain over a thousand components, painstakingly collected from vintage publications - some over 500 years old. These images are processed into a digital format, and then collated into the final artwork.
